There are lots of generic tips for studying. “Don't procrastinate!” “Do it as soon as you can!” But what do you do once you start? To answer these questions we have responses from 6th and 8th graders.

From 6th grade, Owen Cranmer:

If you're trying to find articles, start simple when you first search. Then as you find more results add more specific details to your search to find the perfect article.

From 8th grade, Klara Jones:

Make sure to write everything in your planner! I write it in my notes app, but just make sure to have a system that works for you.

Studying can be stressful and intimidating and different tips might not work for everyone. So the ultimate piece of advice we could give you to study better is if something isn’t working, try asking a friend, parent, or teacher for a way to study better! If you are having lots of trouble lots of high schools offer short-term courses in the summertime to learn how to study. Examples of schools that offer this are SAAS and Bishop Blanchette. These courses typically last a week and offer extensive knowledge on how to organize notes, how to know what is important to study, and other tips and tricks on how to study. The upside of these classes is that it's taught by high school teachers/students so it is people who understand the experience and who are well-versed in studying.
